What is the Tendo app?
Whether you’re a patient, clinician, or caregiver, Tendo wants to help you take control of your health.
The Tendo app is an online service that provides seamless, intuitive, and user-friendly experiences to simplify the healthcare journey and allow you to interact with your provider. Learn more about Tendo.
The Tendo app allows you to:
Schedule appointments with your primary care provider
Receive personalized post-visit summaries and reminders
Access your results, labs, and other information
Note: The Tendo app is not a substitute for medical emergencies. If you experience a medical emergency, call 911 immediately.
How much does it cost to use the Tendo app?
Select healthcare organizations investing in an improved experience for their patients offer the Tendo service free of charge.
Do I have to have a smartphone to use the Tendo app?
Currently the app experience has been optimized for smartphones.
If you receive an invitation to join the Tendo app, the link you receive displays data via your device’s default mobile browser.
The Tendo experience is also offered through a native iOS app, which can be downloaded as part of the account invitation process.
How often is the Tendo app updated?
Tendo releases updates to the app every month.

How is my personal information protected when I sign up for a Tendo account?
Tendo understands the importance and sensitivity of your information. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Tendo App. If you are the parent or legal guardian of a minor child, you may use the Tendo App to receive healthcare consultations for your child. All personal data is protected.

When using the Tendo app, you consent to the use of tracking technologies to collect and record your real-time activities and movements throughout your browsing session. This technology allows Tendo to improve the app experience. Your session data will be shared with our vendors, who will also adhere to Tendo Privacy Policy and practices.

What types of appointments can be scheduled in the Tendo app?
The type of appointment available to you is determined by your healthcare provider. If an online appointment cannot be scheduled, you will be directed to contact your provider’s office via telephone.

How do I use the Tendo app?
We have designed the app to be intuitive in its use. However, if you need additional assistance about how to use the app, please see the relevant user documentation:
How are medical providers added to the Tendo app?
Currently the Tendo app is only available within select healthcare organizations. Individual medical providers are added directly by the organization.
Can I update outdated personal information in the Tendo app?
Tendo collects only the personal information that you submit, or that you authorize your provider to share with Tendo.
Currently, any updates that you are able to make in the Tendo app are not passed back to your provider. You are welcome to make updates in the Tendo app to your user profile, but you must also contact your provider to update your data.
What appointments will I see, and what appointments can I book, cancel, or reschedule in the app?
You can cancel non-participating physician appointments, but you will not be able to book or reschedule them at this time. The app will allow you to connect with those providers via phone.
What images are available in the app today?
Image notes will be available, but you will not have access to the actual image (e.g., X-Ray).
Can I refill a prescription from the app?
Prescriptions will show up in chronological order but not a list of prescription management. You cannot currently submit prescriptions for a refill, but this functionality is on our roadmap.
Will my vaccination records be available in the app?
Vaccinations are visible, but vaccination status management is on the roadmap.
I’m a caregiver; whose medical records can I access from the app?
The app is currently for your personal use only. No family management is available yet, but that functionality is on our roadmap.
Can I talk to my physician through the app?
We don’t currently allow in-app communication between patients and providers, but that functionality is on our roadmap. If you need to speak with a physician, you will have the ability to connect with your provider via phone from the app.
Does the Tendo app handle payments?
We don’t currently handle any payments, but this functionality is on our roadmap.
I need to update my personal information and/or insurance details; what should I do?
You can update your insurance and personal info in Tendo, but your provider will not see that updated info at this time. That functionality is on our roadmap.
When does the pilot end?
Once you are enrolled in the app, you can use it forever. We will continue to expand the pool of patients, physicians, and app functionality.
How do I check-in for my appointment if I booked through the app?
We don’t currently handle check-in flow, just booking and aftercare. Check-in functionality will still be handled through Freesia.
Does Tendo integrate with other health applications?
Tendo integrates with your healthcare provider’s electronic medical records system and may provide personal information about you to others for the purpose of providing you with the Tendo App.
When suppliers or servicers of Tendo receive your personal information from Tendo, they receive that personal information as Tendo's independent contractor and business associate in compliance with state and federal health care privacy and security rules (HIPAA). The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) is a federal law that requires the creation of national standards to protect sensitive patient health information from being disclosed without the patient's consent or knowledge.
How do I report a problem with the Tendo app?
The Tendo app may lack designed functionality or display unintentional behaviors. If you need to report a problem with the app, please visit the Tendo Support page.
